Welcome to the rush hour, your daily dose of pop culture for your rush hour ride. Buckle up and enjoy the drive with your host standup comedian, Dave Neal. Good morning, everybody. Happy Wednesday. Is it already Wednesday? Can you believe that October 9th, 2024. And on the morning rush, we've got tiger King star, Carol Baskin in hot water using big, Cat rescue funds to purchase a home.

I'll share that story. Plus Melania Trump joins Fox to discuss her husband's humor, complimenting his personality and dancing with the stars wrapped up. It's two night event last night. I'll break down my favorite dances. Plus what is going on with the judges? Wild scoring fluctuation. Also in FBI has thwarted a massive election day terrorist attack, which may have targeted.

Oklahoma voting booths, frightening stuff. And Joey Grazia day went on vile files podcast to discuss where he plans to move with Kelsey after this season of dancing with the stars and Justin Timberlake cancels a concert due to a mystery illness, these stories and more coming up next on the rush. Well, good news coming in Bachelor Nation as Bachelor in Paradise stars Abigail Harringer and Noah Erb marry in Gatsby Garden Wedding in Tulsa.

I'll make a YouTube video of this so you can see the wedding outfits. Plenty of the couple's Bachelor Nation star friends celebrated the nuptials including Serena Pitt, Joe, and Thomas Becca and Ivan Halls and Blake Moynes. So again, we'll give all the updates on that on today's YouTube video. The stunning, uh, wedding was at a 1920s Italian Renaissance style villa nestled on 25 acres of formal and informal gardens.

Uh, beautiful stuff, folks. Well, uh, sadly there's a scary story coming out of Oklahoma and that was broken last night on ABC world news. The department of justice has thwarted a chilling. Alleged terror plot by an Afghan national. Have a listen. Following this breaking news from the justice department at this hour, they said late today that they have thwarted an alleged terror plot targeting election day right here in the U.

S. Let's get right to our chief justice correspondent, Pierre Thomas. Pierre, what have you learned? David, it's a new potentially chilling terror plot stopped by the FBI. The justice department charging 27 year old Nasir Ahmad Tahiti, an Afghan national living in Oklahoma, and the FBI to kill Americans on Election Day on behalf of ISIS.

According to newly unsealed charges to he and the juvenile were arrested yesterday after attempting to buy two AK 47 assault rifles, 10 magazines and 500 rounds of ammunition from undercover FBI operatives. When he was arrested, DOJ claims Tahiti confirmed the attack was planned for Election Day targeting large gatherings of people during which he and the juvenile were expected to die as martyrs.

DOJ officials say the investigation intensified after the FBI searched Tahiti's phone, discovered communication with an Afghan ISIS recruiter. David. Very scary stuff. So, uh, you know, Hey, you know, glad they were able to catch this ahead of time. The scene in Florida, specifically Tampa, is one ripped right out of an apocalyptic movie.

Here's a TikTok video that was shared of, I guess, a recorded device being played by the police as they drive through town, uh, in sort of a evacuation protocol. Have a listen, please.

This is the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. You are in a That

is scary. storm surge. The lady says that is scary. Well, look, I mean, they, they're trying their best to make sure everybody knows this thing is serious. NBC6's John Morales, who has worked in meteorology for more than 40 years, says says that Hurricane Milton could have devastating impacts. It might be might be one of the strongest hurricanes to ever to ever hit.

I think people in florida, generally speaking, are taking this event very seriously and I've seen a lot of preparation. I know there's a lot of people on the road, which is also dangerous. Lots of people trying to get out of arms way. Uh, but, but this could be, this could be the new record setting hurricane for Florida in terms of property damage.

We just set that record two years ago with Hurricane Ian, our costliest disaster in history. I wouldn't be surprised if Hurricane Milton becomes the new multibillion dollar costliest disaster in a state. That has an insurance crisis amongst other, and a climate crisis too, amongst other things. And you know, some people think that this is man made, like they're seeding the clouds.

I mean, look, uh, what, what can we even do with people like that, that think that, that this is a sort of something that, uh, was put in the direction of Florida, a good riddance. Well, have you heard of Lieutenant Dan? No, not the guy from, uh, Forrest Gump. There's actually a viral guy named Lieutenant Dan going around TikTok.

In fact, they're calling it Lieutenant Dan talk. He is a man who. I think he's disabled in the sense that he has one leg and the other leg, uh, is, uh, I don't know if it's a birth deformity or if he lost it, uh, and you know, in some accident, I'm really not sure. Uh, and I'm not trying to make light of this situation, but everyone's following this guy because he says he's not going to leave and he has a boat.

I don't know if it's 20 or 30 feet long. He's got this little boat. And people are literally going up to him. The mayor went up to him saying, dude, you got to go. And he's saying, I'm going to ride this storm out. People think he's crazy. They're online rooting him on. Here's a tick tock. We got three hours until high tide and we're checking in on lieutenant.

Dan, his phone has risen a little bit. So there they are looking for him, he's in there, you know, he's kind of become a local hero or I should say a mythological legend of sorts. I hope he evacuates. I hope he doesn't try to ride this storm out, but either way, we're We'll be giving updates on Lieutenant Dan as his story has become larger than life.

Now, look in Australia, there is an OnlyFans model who is now being investigated, uh, because I guess she fed, um, a chicken to an alligator. Do I have that right? Uh, Jaylee Bonow posted a deleted video on her feed, uh, of her feeding a chicken, and she claims it was cooked to a saltwater crocodile on the banks of the Russell River in far north Queensland.

Well, it turns out that's a serious no no down under, and now she's under investigation. I mean, look, can you really get mad at someone for wanting to feed another animal? I don't know. I don't know all the rules and policies in other countries for feeding animals, but you'd, you'd like to think that there's some sort of a slap on the wrist.

You give someone, you know, for not understanding that rule, just a thought. Well, in other news, limp biscuit is seeking 200 million from universal music over unpaid royalties. Fred Durst frontman of the rock band, limp biscuit sued universal music group, the world's largest record company. Claimed he was cheated out of millions of dollars in royalties.

Well, I mean, that's a lot of money, but Hey, you know, you got to, you know, uh, I wouldn't be surprised to every other story in the music world is how record labels are sort of ripping people off. So not a big surprise there. Hoda Kotb has announced she'll be retiring from the today show and she went on Jimmy Fallon's tonight show.

And explains what it was like to sort of learn and grow while working at NBC. Uh, you know, it doesn't always come easy to everybody and, um, having a good mentor and learning from the best seems to be the way to go. Here's what she had to say. When I was starting here, Jimmy, I started working at Dateline and I'll never forget it.

I was, everyone was better at everything, you know, compared to me, better interviews, better writing, better everything. And I was like, but you know what? I have a great. pretty good voice, so at least I got that. And my boss, Neil Shapiro, called me in one day, and he was like, Hey, I need to talk to you. About that voice.

I go, what about my voice? He goes, look, you really need to work on it. I'm gonna, I'm gonna set you straight right here. And now I go, okay, what do you want me to do? He goes, read this paper. And he wrote down, and then something amazing happened and he held it up to me and I, I, I go, and then something amazing happened.

He goes, no, no, no, no. Punch it. I go, and then something amazing happened. He goes, I didn't say yell. I said, . I said, punch you. He took the paper and he goes, listen. He goes, and then something. Amazing happened. He said, you see what I did? He goes, you've got to do that. So I wander out of his office. I hear Keith Morrison tracking a Dateline piece and I'm standing outside listening and it's beautiful.

And when he's done, I go, Keith, I go, what are you doing in the booth? He goes, what am I doing? He goes, Oh, I'm, I'm reading my kid a bedtime story. And then Something amazing happened. The Rosetta stone. So he kind of changed my whole behavior at Dateline. And I think from there I started to get confidence.

That's great advice. So I like the advice. I want to talk to you guys like it's a bedtime story. How about that? I mean, it's the morning now, so it's not a bedtime story, but Hey, look, I think the point is, is that you always think everyone else has these God given skills, but sometimes you need to work on it, on your delivery, on your presentation, on all the things.

What can you do to, I guess, sharpen the tool, as it were? And that's a question we have to ask ourselves every day. But isn't that why we're on this God given earth? To improve, to be a better version of ourselves today than we were yesterday? So good on her for sharing that wisdom. Well, Justin Timberlake, I guess, had an accident and he's missing a concert.

I've got him and Carole Baskin coming up next. All right, Justin Timberlake postpones a concert over an injury and says, I'm so disappointed. He posts, I'm so sorry to postpone tonight's show. I have an injury that's preventing me from performing. I'm so disappointed to not see you all, but I'm working to reschedule ASAP.

I promise to make it up to you and give you the best show y'all deserve. Thank you guys. Hey, listen, my, my thing is this, if you have to cancel. A show on the same day, you should have to provide proof of whatever the injury is, especially if you're getting in your older age, like if you're an old millennial, like I'd love to hear it.

I pulled my back out sneezing. You know, I'd like to know I was, I slipped in the shower trying to shave my who knows what, right? Um, that's what I would like, but, um, either way, I guess we're not going to find out what's caused his delay. Well, Carol Baskin's in hot water. Remember her, uh, she used Big Cat Rescue funds to purchase an 895, 000 home office, at least according to TMZ.

Carol and her husband Howard got the Odessa, Florida house for 895K. The deed obtained by TMZ lists Big Cat Rescue as the property owner. There is no mortgage evident from the deed, so it appears the property was purchased outright with Big Cat Rescue funds. Uh, it's a charitable organization and she is the CEO.

She said she bought the place after she and Howard sold their sanctuary headquarters and moved the cats to the, uh, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Arkansas. So I don't know, uh, you know, if you can use, I don't know, is it, are you allowed to use charitable money to buy a home? I guess they say there's nothing illegal about the purchase.

Uh, assuming she uses the house for the benefit of the charity. Well, you know, most charities are really, you know, BS, right? I mean, I feel like most charities are quote unquote, administrative costs, which are really the CEOs of the charity flying around to promote the said charity. So anyhow, I mean, Hey, look, not all of them, but just know where you're donating your money before you put it in any direction.

Well, Taylor Swift, as we reported, had her glitter patches that she wore on the Monday night football. Well, sales have spiked 2, 500 percent. Employees are working around the clock. Co founder Elliott Buttleman told TMZ she was always determined to get the glitter freckles in front of the pop star following Faze It Beauty's launch back in May.

She felt the trend fit Taylor's vibe on the heiress tour, which sees the chart topper in a number of glittery outfits. Now I've Cover this, uh, the last couple of days. I just love a good phenomenon where Taylor goes viral, you know, and where something different, and then it launches a career. I mean, we used to have this with Oprah.

I remember the Oprah's book club, like the Oprah was the influencer before social media even existed. Well, I've spoken with Aliette, uh, Aliette here, and we're going to try to get her on the show for tomorrow. Cause I'd love to know more about. Her company and how she really took such bold choices to send.

I mean, look, you know, it takes a little bit of capital. It takes investment to try to get your product in front of the right people. Uh, but I think they're doing all the right things. And it's amazing how one little, uh, you know, appearance at a football game can change people's lives. So very happy for them.

And we'll continue to cover that story. Well, we've discussed this a few times, Joey Grazia day. From the bachelor and, uh, the amazing dancer on dancing with the stars, he and his fiance Kelsey are discussing whether they're gonna move to Los Angeles or New York. It looks like they're leaning on Los Angeles.

Here's what they had to say, uh, while chatting with the Vile Files podcast. Exciting. There's a lot going on. So yeah, you're like living here now. Well, temporarily, but we are starting to look at places in LA, which is exciting. So we're starting that process. You're becoming in LA. Yeah. That is, that is the idea right now.

I'm not sure if Kelsey's fully sold yet, but we're, we're making our way. I feel like last time you were here, it was New York. It was New York. Yes. Kelsey, do you want to touch on that? I mean, yeah, we were originally wanting, well, I wanted to live in New York. I've always wanted to live in New York, but I feel like LA still gives that city.

But then also it's got the sun and the beach for Joey, which I know would make him a little happier. I'm like, he would probably be really depressed in New York. So I guess I have to think about what kind of, uh, bag or purse or what are you going to be getting Kelsey living your dreams? I think every day there's going to be a new gift.

Now I get to live my dream. So yeah, no, I got it. I got to definitely, uh, repay that one for me. And it's, um, she's got a lot of, She's already gotten one or two, but I'm sure we're going to add some more to the collection here for this. So there it is. I mean, look, you know, the LA, New York debate has existed forever.

Having just got back from New York and in going to Los Angeles very soon. I have to tell you, I mean, LA, I think is a better option for them right now. You're working in Hollywood. You know, you need to be where all the influencers are. All the parties and things like that. New York's great, but LA gives you that vitamin D.

You can be on the beach surfing in the morning. You can be at a meeting in the afternoon and you can be in downtown LA at a swanky party at night. LA is really just a vast County. So, you know, the idea that it has the city life that New York has, it's just different, but you know, in the position that they're in.

I, I would honestly say stay in Los Angeles and I think she'll get there. LA and New York are both the types of cities where if you visit for three days, you won't understand what makes them so good. You need to invest more time there. And then, you know, when you do that, you know, the good things. You know, you, you start to see what's good about the cities.

Well, Joey's on Dancing with the Stars. Last night was the second night. And we said goodbye to the two elder castmates, uh, that being Julia Roberts, brother, Eric Roberts, and, uh, the dad from Family Matters, Carl Winslow. Uh, look. They're, they were barely moving, you know, it's, I love the show that it brings out the best in people and there's a lot of support coming from audiences because, you know, you get to see people that are maybe past their prime physically, you know, get back out there and move along.

But. I mean, we, we've seen, we've had older cast members like Cloris Leachman and, you know, people that have danced really well. And, and these guys, I mean, they were just really, really bad. I kind of feel like the judges were gaslighting us saying, Oh, it's great. The chemistry you bring to the show. And I'm like, I'm looking and I'm like, where I don't see any of it.

Uh, but unbelievable Chandler McKinney, uh, kind of an unknown, at least to me, it's just absolutely crushing it. Joey received, uh, I think the highest score of the night or one of the highest scores of the night, he keeps on improving, which is very hard to do. Uh, you know, as the male, you have to be the lead and, you know, uh, Jen Tran looking good.

Brooks, Nader and Gleb are a full out couple. He, he said he loved her, uh, which is wild. Uh, but hey, she just got out of a, a relationship. I think she just went through a divorce or whatever, so. Um, is she moving on or is she having a rebound with her hot dancer? Who knows who cares the show's on fire. Um, I just, I, I just, you know, Dwight Howard, here he is.

He's like six foot 10 or whatever the hell he is. His partner's. Barely five foot tall. It's comical seeing them next to each other. Cause he actually looks about three times her size. It looks like a father daughter dance gone wrong. That's what it looks like, but Hey, I'm loving watching it all. I love seeing, uh, art.

I love seeing people face adversity and learn something, you know, stretch and grow so many people, we just get set in our ways. Right. And so. To see, uh, people challenge themselves to learn something new and what that must do to the brain to try to force your muscles to do something they haven't done either in years or ever that being dance.

It's just really so special that after, I don't know, 30 seasons, however long they've done this show that I still find it inspiring to watch people learn how to dance. And you know, my wife and I, we took dance lessons for our, uh, you know, our wedding and we, you know, we, we took private ballroom dance lessons and we're going to actually be.

Looking to take dance lessons here in Nashville, because I have to tell you, uh, whether it's with your partner, if you go do it alone, there is something so amazing about continuing to challenge the body to, to, to, to do things like that. So very much feeling the inspiration as I watched that show. Well, I have.

A lot of tea to share with you in the political world. I really do. There was a bombshell new, uh, book that came out, which is making some crazy accusations. We'll have that story for you next. All right. Just to be fair, I've got a pro Melania Trump story, and then I have an anti Donald Trump story. Okay. So if you're wondering about politics, we're going to give you one of each.

Well, Melania Trump wrote a book and she was with, I guess, a. Fox TV show describing what she loves most about Donald. Now, some folks are surprised about this because they, you know, thought she lived in a different house and they don't even communicate, but it really is a bizarre relationship. We don't know much about, here's what she had to say.

Well, is there something you would want people to know about your husband that they probably don't know that they should know? Something that they would be, Oh, that's, you know, that's pretty good. Well, I have some stories and Jesse, you read that in the book. So they're kind of, you know, cute, nice stories.

And he's very warm. He's fun. He has a great personality and all he wants, he's very passionate about this country. All he wants, he wants to make this country safe. Um, so everybody has a jobs and enjoying family life and, you know, he's treating everybody equal. You know, he doesn't, man or woman, he could be tough on a woman, he could be tough on a man.

We experienced that. We've seen that. We've seen that. Does he make you laugh? Yeah. Yes, he does. Of course. Yes. Yes. That's the key. He is. He is. All right. All right. So I get it. I don't know if she was there by hostage takeover or not, but I got to be honest. Donald Trump is one of the funniest politicians we've ever had.

I mean, you know, it might be offensive to people, but he's funny. He has a good sense of what's funny. You know, a lot of people find it strange that he never laughs at things. Like he won't give people the credit of like, he won't laugh when you laugh a lot. Yeah. It's, it's a psychological thing, right?

You're giving the other person the credit over something funny. They said he doesn't go there. He almost always stays in character. I would love it. I would love to see him laugh. I just, I've just never seen it, but does he have, he, he, he does have the ability to find truth in very obscure things. I've, I saw him give a speech once about social media and it got a lot of laughs.

Now, again, it doesn't mean that you got to agree with his policies. That's for sure. Now, we only have, what, 26 days left until the election, something like that. So bear with me, but there's a bunch of crazy stuff that's about to happen. You know, the month leading up to the election always has wild stuff.

Well, in a new book called War, journalist Bob Woodward alleges new details about former President Trump's private conversations with Vladimir Putin. Very, very interesting stuff. Trump secretly sent to Putin. scarce covid testing machines for his personal use. This was at a time during the height of covid where everybody wanted.

One of these in the new book, Bob Woodward, reveals details about Trump's private conversations. Woodward has the conversation between Trump and Putin in the book. Here's what they said. Putin, please don't tell anybody you sent these to me. Trump. I don't care. Fine Putin. No. No. I don't want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me.

They don't care. Now, what's interesting here is like, who's Bob Woodward anyway, you know, does he have audio of this conversation in today's world? If you don't have audio of the conversation, I don't think anybody's going to believe it. Woodward also writes that a top Trump aid, Pamela told him that Trump had as many as seven phone calls with Vladimir Putin.

I don't think anybody's going to believe it. post presidency since he left office. We do not know what the content of those. All right. So anyway, obviously the Kamala Harris campaign is going to use this information to their advantage. Here she is reacting to this bombshell bombastic news. I mean, this all just dropped.

So here's her instant reaction. Everybody was scrambling to get These kits the tests The covid test kits couldn't get them couldn't get them right and get them anywhere, right? So now she's on howard stern having this conversation as she does her media blitz and it's fascinating but guys look I mean, I don't I don't know who bob woodward is.

I don't know how he knows this You know, do you is it a former trump aide with an ax to grind? I mean because the point of what i'm saying is do I think the conversation's true maybe but without hard evidence It's not going to change anybody's minds Right. And this guy who is president of the United States is sending them to Russia to a murderous dictator for his personal use.

The point being, that is just the most recent stark example of who Donald Trump is that he secretly. Sent COVID test kits for the personal use of Putin of Russia, an adversary to the United States. Now, I don't know if this would move the needle or anything, but Trump's campaign made a statement of the, what they say are made up stories by Bob Woodward.

They said this, none of these made up stories by Bob Woodward are true and are the work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump derangement syndrome. Woodward is an angry little man and is clearly upset because President Trump is successfully suing him because of the unauthorized publishing of recordings he made previously.

President Trump gave him absolutely no access for this trash book that either belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue. Woodward is a total sleazebag who has lost it mentally and he's slow, lethargic, incompetent, and overall a boring person with no personality.

That was Steven Chung, communications director. Well, it kind of makes me believe it now more than I did before, but either way, I don't know if any information will come out, um, uh, validating what was said here are authenticating. We'll have to see, but, uh, you know, the stories, they're just going to keep on getting stranger until election day, but, uh, make no bones about it.

Election day will come and go, and then we will hopefully be able to talk about other things. Oh, right. Well, that does it for us this morning. We'll be live on Patrion.
